1. Information We Collect

a. Mailing Lists. We collect personal information from you for the purpose of sending you communications when you voluntarily provide it by signing up for our mailing list.

b. Non-Personal Information. Like most websites, Ideas Never Sleep uses third party services to obtain non-personal data (“Non-Personal Data”) from visitors. This Non-Personal Data may include information such as browser type, IP address, language preference, referring URL, and the date and time of each visitor request. You can remove or block cookies using the settings in your browser, though doing so may affect your ability to use the Service.

2. Uses of Your Information In Your Profile; Sharing User Information with Third Parties

a. Communications. We may use the information you provide to send you messages related to the Service through email.

b. Non-Personal Data. We may use Non-Personal Data to help diagnose and repair issues with your use of the Service, administer the Service, monitor Service usage, understand how our visitors use Ideas Never Sleep, make decisions about how to change and adapt the Service, and create anonymous Service statistics.

c. Sharing Information with Third Parties. We take the privacy of our users very seriously, and we do not sell, rent, or otherwise provide the information you provide to us to third parties, except as described in this Statement, unless disclosure is reasonably necessary in our opinion to: (1) comply with legal process, including, but not limited to, civil and criminal subpoenas, court orders or other compulsory disclosures; (2) enforce this Agreement; (3) respond to claims of a violation of the rights of third parties; (4) respond to customer service inquiries; or (5) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of NYU, our users or the public. NYU uses third-party service providers (“Service Providers”) to provide certain services, such as hosting and email services, which are necessary for our operation of the Service, and those Service Providers may have access to your information for the purposes of providing services to us.

3. Third-Party Services

Ideas Never Sleep displays content hosted by third party services (e.g., videos, article excerpts, and comments) and may contain links to sites or services controlled by third parties (“Third-Party Services”). If you wish to comment on content found on Ideas Never Sleep, you may do so by using one of the Third-Party Services linked to on the Service. Your comments will be submitted to the Third-Party Services and then displayed on Ideas Never Sleep, and the Third-Party Services’ use of your comment and anything else you submit to the Third-Party Services will be subject to their privacy statements. If you follow any link to a Third-Party Service, you should review that site’s privacy policy to find out how it treats the information you provide to it. We are not responsible for Third-Party Services or their privacy practices.

4. Your Choices

By using the Service, you expressly and voluntarily accept the terms and conditions of this Privacy Statement and the Agreement of which it is a part. Providing your information to us is entirely voluntary. If you no longer wish to receive emails from us, you can unsubscribe following the procedure found in any of our emails. If you wish to remove your content shared on the Service through the Third-Party Services commenting platform, you must do so through the means provided by those services.

5. Security

We have security measures in place to protect Ideas Never Sleep against loss, corruption, and alteration of the information under our control. We will take all reasonable measures to protect the integrity of private communications on the Service. However, even protected services can be subject to hacking, technological glitches, user misconduct, and administrative errors, and we assume no liability for any of these actions or occurrences or their results.

6. Location of Servers and Transfer of Information: Special Alert to Non-United States Users

Our servers are located in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, be aware that the information you provide to us will be transferred to the United States. By using the Service or providing information to us through it, you consent to this transfer and to the collection, storage, processing and use of your information in the United States.

7. Children Under Age 13

Ideas Never Sleep is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. By using the Service, you represent to us that you are at least 13 years old. If you are not at least 13 years old, you may not use the Service. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected any personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information.
